Bruce D. Murduck: Genealogist & Family Historian

I'm a graduate of Queen's University at Kingston, with an Honours Degree in (Historical) Geography, and
I've maintained a lifelong interest in human migratory patterns and
individual and family group experiences.
I drafted my first family tree chart, aged about 14 years,
and I've been actively engaged in meticulous and diligent
geographical, genealogical and family history research since 1984.

I'm quite familiar and comfortable with a highly varied range of record types from many
local, Provincial and Canadian National jurisdictions.

In the course of my work I've also developed a strong familiarity with records from
England, Scotland, Ireland, and the Channel Islands;
from almost all states in the United States of America;
from some of the German states; and from France; Norway; and Sweden.
I've successfully demonstrated an ability to
track many Immigrant ancestors to homeland locations
when surviving records permit.

I'm a member, in good standing, of the Ontario Genealogical Society,
including the eastern Ontario branches,
as well as other eastern Ontario Genealogical Societies.
In 1998 I served as the Vice-Chair of the Kingston Branch, OGS,
(when our 25th Anniversary was celebrated!),
and as Chairman in 1999.
Between 1997 and 2000 I designed, installed,and maintained
the initial Kingstson & District Branch, OGS, Web pages,
the base of which continues to be of benefit to the Branch.

I was a member of the United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada, 1997-2014,
and served as Branch Genealogist for the Kingston & Branch, on invitation, from late 1997 until late 2002.

I'm a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, and I participate, as well, as a member of the Ontario Chapter of this group.

Since the early 1990s I have worked on a number of
complex and difficult case files,
through Ontario's Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee.
Practising 'Forensic Genealogy',
I have also worked on a variety of cases for
members of the legal profession in heir tracing and related contexts.
